Use twisted pair cabling, connected as shown in

figure 3.3, for the cabling between the power

supply and the terminal strip. If you use cabling

with less than 2 twists/inch, it should be shielded.

Note that the shield should only be connected at

one end.

For best results, the power supply voltage should

be adjusted to provide 5 volts at the furthest

encoder.

Step 7. If your application requires them, mount the home

L/S, positive overtravel L/S, and negative

overtravel L/S on your machine. Overtravel L/S

should be normally closed devices. Fasten the

field wires from the limit switches to the terminal

strip. Typical field connections are shown in figure

3.4.
